Just received an email titled "PayPal issues" email does not address me by name (my name is not in my email address) it states that my account was accessed from Germany gives an IP address and that to protect my account extra security was asked for before the transaction was completed.
If this was not you then someone has access to your account and password. If this is the case we suggest you log into your account and check recent activity.
Surprise there is a hyperlink to click onto - sod that - suspecting a scam I logged into PayPal via their site and my account is fine.

I have never had a genuine email saying that there is a problem with any account I have - so as above assume all such types of emails are scams.

Good process by OP though - never follow a hyperlink from within an email.

Unless I've just done something with PayPal, and get a notification, I never respond to any Email from them. I always look at my PayPal account through Ebay.

So did you forward the dodgy email to spoof@paypal ?
At least that way you help to protect others.

Neil. :)

I did this a cple of months ago ,reported it to paypal eventually !getting anything through to them is a pain,i have now took all funds out of my paypal and cut ties to my cards ,if i have to use them now i will transfer there and then,

I have loads of this type of thing you can forward them to spoof@paypal for them to investigate. Never do anything except when you have accessed your account with them direct.
