Confusing the clearances with xenophobia
That’s up to them.
I’m first generation Scottish Pole and not a great lover of the English due to the way they treated the Polish fighter pilots during the war. Not believing that the pilots could fly and fight until they broke the rules to do so.
Poles have a long memory as well.
Don’t get me wrong.
I tried to join the British armed forces, as repaying / respect for them freeing my father and grandfather at the end of WWII.
However I was refused due to the high contact we had with our families back in Poland.
I was considered a high security risk, in fact was told I wouldn’t be allowed to join the police either.
Rather ironic that more English intellectuals were spies.
It shouldn’t be forgotten that the Scot’s have always fought for Britain / freedom.
Carluke has the nickname A Town Called Courage.
Due to the three VC’s awarded to local residents during WWI.
The highest per capita bar none!
Then we have Maggie Thatcher using Scotland as giunea pigs for the poll tax.
Told it didn’t work and when it was imposed on the English was quickly abolished.
Going back to when North Sea oil was discovered, the Scots told by the English that it wouldn’t last long - yeah right.
Tony Blair’s government amending the Scottish North Sea boundaries to give more fishing / gas / mineral rights to the English.
Now on to energy production by wind farms.
Energy costs should be zonally priced.
The closer you are to a supply the cheaper it is.
I’d love to see less wind farms / substation industrialising the Scottish countryside and more nuclear power stations in England.
And you wonder why the Scots support anybody but the English (especially when getting ‘66 rammed down their throats everytime England play).
