Much loved Weihrauch HW60J 0.17HMR for sale due to needing to free the slot on my FAC. Complete: rifle with scope, moderator and mag.

Incredibly accurate rifle with its 23" barrel, superb light trigger and a bolt that is smoother than my Sauer 202. Beautiful German engineering.

Perfect for squirrels at 0 to 150 yards, and I do head shots on wood pigeons on the ground with it routinely (just time it right as they nod, so one can fry their undamaged fillets).

A review on the rifle can be found at Weihrauch HW60J .17HMR rifle review - ShootingUK

The scope is a cheap x6 one, but works down to low light. It does have covers for the adjustments.

Can organise RFD transfers.

Cheapest on Guntrader is £450: I need to sell it fast to free up the FAC slot hence the price being asked is just (after price reduction below) £250.

Ha I'm just messing pal. I never got on with it myself, had 2 chambered in it, think I was expecting too much.
I've variation in at minute swapping hmr for 17Hornet

Might be worth trying different ammo, e.g. 20gn instead of 17 before giving up on HMR. Out to 150 yards, the HMR is really hard to beat.

Hornet does not leave much for eating unless it is a head shot each time. Also a fair bit more noise so the rabbits or squirrels bolt, while the HMR is quiet enough one can take out a fair few at a time.

To be honest, I don't need a squirrel/rabbit gun (have 22lr if need be). I'm not much of a "one for the pot" shooter, much more predator control. Hornet will be mainly for corvids & occasional fox.

The HMR is a mile better than 22LR for all ground vermin, because the HMR requires far less accurate range estimation, and above all, avoids ricochet risks.
The 22LR has not enough speed to disintegrate when the bullet hits a stone, and it only takes one to come back the wrong way.
The average 22LR round has a drop of around 18" at 100 yards regardless of whether it is a subsonic or supersonic round. Not a problem for target shooting but when beasts are all over the place in a field, or in woodland leaf litter, you are going to get a lot of bad shots.
Switching to a 0.17 Hornet for corvids ... like the HMR it is flat shooting, but as I mentioned the noise means you only get one at a time, and it is a bit of an overkill.
I assume your reason given to your FEO is you want the Hornet for foxes, where it is not a bad choice just as a HMR also does the job to 110 yards, but if your main target is foxes then go for a 22 WMR or 223.

I've got a 204 for fox. Think 17H & 22lr will cover all my needs. Like I said, initial comment was slightly tongue in cheek. Congratulations on the sale.
