I’m keeping a bitch; the pups have been bred with the intention of producing good bird dogs, who enjoy being part of the family, and hopefully win a few field trials.
The dam, Archenfield Islay is the third generation Archenfield I have had, and won the Hungarian Vizsla Society’s Janos trophy for the highest score in UK Field Trials during the 22-23 season. She is an affectionate, gentle soul, who is great with the children. The puppies will be reared in our home, and well socialised, under the care of our ‘in house’ vet.
The French sire, Paddock du Clos de la Baudeliere, became an International Field Trial Champion this season, and has a long list of other accolades to his name. To succeed on the Continent, dogs need speed, range and drive, which is what I’m hoping he will bring to the litter.
All my Archenfield Vizslas have been biddable, versatile and will locate deer - but I would say feathered game is their forte.
