Well vaccum

How deep is the well bottom? Now would be a good time to get down there if practical and safe as water table at its lowest.

Have you considred starting investigations with fishing 🧲 to see what 'goodies' you might land?

One day I'll get to desend to the bottom of my 75ft well and extract whatever I'm able to grab!

Don't know till I clear it out ! Sometimes u can see water other times dry but now its filled to only about a foot and a half from the top !

Was considering an ice auger ? 🤔

I've seen vacuum excavators with big long hoses if you are prepared to throw money at hiring one. A vacuum slurry tanker might be another option if you know anyone with one.

Put on the light I suspended in mine recently after dark and then got out the 8X56 Zeiss Night Owles. Was fascinated by the critters swimming around in the crystal-clear chalk encapsulated water!

There is however some historic debris I'd like to clear which no doubt includes timbers used in the original mode of water extraction:

Trash pump on Machine Mart - £454.80 will suck up to 28mm particles. I am sure that there are better ones....just had a further look and some take up to 35mm
