from 200 to 1000m if I like.

As knobs go it really is quite knobbish, the sort of knobbly knob you could easily get your fingers round and give a good pull backwards and forwards and even a bit of a twisting at the same time . . . . . .

I haven't felt the need to fiddle with my nob yet. I am proud to say this as a 45yr old.
I have always found the knob supplied as standard equipment was sufficient to cope with any up and down and backwards and forwards movement either I or anyone else could give it.
Out of interest has your improved knob ever fallen off?
