What is deer stalking?

Good to see the old boy in a camo jacket...let the anti`s argue about his choice eh what.
The gun room made me very jealous also lol.

Apparently his original scopes can only be zeroed by a gunsmith as that is the way the rifle was built and you also have to buy the factory ammunition that the particular rifle was built to shoot so if that ammo is no longer available the chances are you may not find ammunition that shoots to the rifles zero.

And not just any Gunsmith.

Working up a home load for one would be an interesting project.

clearly a system that worked - how things have moved on! great video to watch, really enjoyed that. Lovely looking rifle, especially that bolt handle.
The stalker showed what could be done with a small pocket knife too 👌

A little bit late, but there are a lot of myths regarding David Lloyd scopes, actually they are easy to adjust but need a light hand and a little patience, but when zeroed pretty much bomb proof in my own experience.

I don’t think David Lloyd made scopes. He made heavy and poor mounts and a heavy and clonky rifle. I have shot a few. Ron Wharton who latterley owned them would say the same. A poor gimmick

If you have actually seen and studied a scope on a Lloyd rifle you would know exactly what I mean!, so it is obvious you have not? Strange isn’t it that Ron bought the Lloyd name after DL passed, why would he do that if he had such a low opinion? Why are they still being produced by CL guns in association with Ron’s Wife, clearly with modern modifications, after all young people nowadays have such poor eyesight a 4x32 is not good enough to see a stag at 100m or so.
If you know anything about rifles as you purport? You would know that the Mauser GEW action is one of the worlds most reliable however clunky you seem to think it is! It still served the German army for 40 years so can’t be that bad as you are reporting with all your vast experience to draw from! It would be nice to hear constructive and informed comments rather than the usual wiki reader stuff this forum turns out regarding Lloyd rifles. Even Diggory Haddock could not get his facts right in an article written in the last year or so, i don’t think there were many 8 year old pilots in the RFC.
