Yes indeed, the shoot I was referring to are shooting bags up to 400 over the 4 drives, depending on what drives the keeper decides to do and how they're beaten. I'm sure the guns are happy as many teams come back each season and demand is high enough to see 3 to 5 days per week.
The 7 or 8 drive partridge shoot, on the other hand normally shoot in the region of 50-100 and only shoot once a fortnight.
My syndicate haven't hit double figures yet on either of our days so far.
As a beater I'm there to have a laugh, get some exercise, see the countryside, watch people's dogs working, and take home my pocket money to spend on stalking. I think I'd get terribly bored if I swapped places with one of the guns, and I dare say he wouldn't fancy doing my job either.
