When they know you don't believe them...

Early run out to the farm this morning.

Shocker.

Road works, three-way lights, diversions all the way; and a really quite spectacular crash at a fast intersection (all caught on my rear-view Dash-Cam).

Nobody died. But at least two folk (now without no-claims bonus) are late for work this morning.

Anyhoo.

To the point.

As I fight my way through the last village; which is currently full of roadworks and diversions, I see this and it made I chuckle...

Mind how you go.

Bloody road closed signs...dont say how far. Was down in Devon last week and we passed about 10 "road closed ahead" signs before we turned off the road that should have been closed ..first was about 4 miles from where we turned off :)

I swear that diversions are put in place not by the regional highways department, but by the local tourist board, as they seem determined that you get to see as much of the surrounding area as possible.
Worse still are those situations where you get two diversions running concurrently, with identical signage differentiated only by a small and barely distinguishable black square or triangle.
I got mixed up in one of these nightmares while trying to locate an address in the Midlands a couple of days ago. Being temporarily unable to wear my contact lenses, and having broken my glasses, I was "driving blind" so to speak. (White stick out the front of the vehicle, and bouncing my nearside tyres off the kerb from time to time to reassure myself I was still on the correct part of the road). All was going well until it got dark, when the headlight glare of oncoming vehicles exacerbated my problem. I could make out the diversion signs ok, but be damned if I could tell the difference between a square and a triangle!
After arriving back at the same intersection 4 times by different routes, I pretty nearly gave up altogether.

I tried a different route to our gun club, normally just turn in to the gate. This time I had arrived from tother side only to find our gate 60yds approx further on past the hole' no chance of sneaking through as the sign also said CCTV in operation. 3 mile loop and I arrive.

We've had the only road from one village to the next one shut for a fortnight or so, cable's being laid/fixed or something. The boss bypassed the roadworks by going through a five bar gate, obviously he has lock keys, and then going around on the conservation headland, coming out another five bar gate below roadworks.
When I stopped to see how the lads were getting on,in my gator, they were all agog at the sight and sound of a DB9 tear-arsing along behind the roadside hedge 😂a tractor would have been expected but an Aston Martin 😳

Well DB9 is a David Brown 9 and he did make a lot of tractors at one time. 😂

This reminds me of the 60 year old british guy a few weeks ago. He ignored several signs saying the path was closed in the Dolomites and then ended up with a bill for £12000 for his rescue.
😂
