Where have all the deer gone??

We have had poachers on the land before as we found a half skinned deer last season! We have a couple of guys on my permission who control the foxes and drive round lamping them at night, I'd like to think they aren't shooting the deer as well!!!!

The fact they are driving about at night may well be enough to move the deer off ..

The best way to access what Deer you have on the ground is at night with a lamp. There`s loads of reason why your probably not seeing them from sunset to sun rise.
If you have suspicions of the vermin control guys go watch them discretely. They normally develop a pattern for nights out..

Stalkers in the morning, farmers during the day,
stalkers in the evening, Vermin controllers at night,,and you're wondering where the deer are ;-) they probably packed their bags looking for some peace and quiet! LOL. That and then before mentioned crowd probably all have full freezers. Call the vermin guys dealers and ask what deer is being brought in from the farm/estate or by them
by name.

Went out on 1 of my dad farms in East Sussex last week to see if I could get myself a follow Buck..
We have seen a lot all summer while we have been doing a bit of work over there I didn't see 1!!!! We r the only ones that shoot it as well.

For now I'm putting it down to the fact that the crop is off the fields so there's no food for them unless they go to grass fields. Plus the acorns are falling now and the blackberries are out so there's plenty for them to eat inside the woods! I'm hoping that once the weather gets a little colder they'll be out!
