Where to get after market stocks

Hi I'm looking to get a after market stock for my howa 1500 ! Where would be the place to look thanks again !

Depends what you want, Boyds supply Howa with the thumbhole stocks they use and theyre about £140 all in from the US or you can get pretty much aything from a B&C, McMillan, GRS, Joe West. All depends what your budget is and if you want synthetic, laminate, walnut etc

I imported a Boyds Pro-Varmint for my heavy barrelled Howa .308. I looks like this now...



This is a laminated stock with a black textured paint coating. I have to say it's a huge improvement over the bendy Hogue stock my kit came with. Cost me about £140 all in with customs etc so a whole lot cheaper than the Macmillan, Robertsons, Manners etc. Very happy with my decision, no regrets. They don't list the Pro-Varmint for bull-barrel actions but I just opened up the channel with a dowel and some sandpaper and coated it where I'd sanded with black exterior wood paint, perfect match. Easy peasy.

Infact, I liked it so much I just swapped out my Boyds thumbhole stock on a CZ for a similar Pro-Varmint to match it.

Hi there if you are still looking or if anyone else is interested I have a Roedale Precision Chassis System (RCS) (similar to AICS) for a shortaction Howa 1500, its complete with genuine Accuracy International OG stocksides and has the improved fixed butt shape with removable spacers to adjust length of pull. It also has a Mike Victor fully adjustable cheek piece for improved cheek weld and turn wheel thumb screws for optimum sight picture alignment and comes complete with a genuine AI 10 round .308 magazine, action fixings included. It is a rock solid firing platform and is in excellent condition having done very little in the way of range time. I am asking £450 plus the postage.

Hi,
Sorry to just jump in but I don't think Boyds will export to individuals anymore,they won't export rifle stocks over the value of $100 and they upped the prices.I bought a Lightweight Thumbhole for my Howa 270 and it is far superior to the thumbhole stock on my Howa 243. I have since bought another for my 243 .It has yet to be fitted cos I'm saving for a GRS.
