Good evening all
I was shooting with a friend earlier and on the drive there we were talking about rimfires, and what our first rimfires were.
Mine being a cz452 and he also had a cz452 untill recently swapping it for a tikka.
I still have my cz452 and I love it I think it’s my favourite rifle mostly because I remember it being such an upgrade from shooting air rifles.
He then asked me which rimfire has shot the most vermin in the uk. I said I’d be shocked if it wasn’t Brno/cz. Pretty much everyone I know started with a cz. But maybe that is just a local thing to me.
What do you guys think? Let me know if I have missed anything to add to the poll

Cheers Rob

Answering as a world wide perspective, savage would include Stevens and anschutz.
kimber and cooper and mossberg would account for a fair few in the states.
World wide, Rossi, who also produces the plinkster for mossberg.
Magtech 7022 ( also a Rossi)
Norinco JW15, 15a
Slazinger, sterling. In Australia account for god knows how many rabbits
Obviously it’s my day off and too hot to hunt.

Hard to tell. But I guess before the likes of Tikka, Brno, Sako and CZ came along, there were a lot of years that BSA would be the tool of choice and probably in times when vermin control (and shooting for the pot) was much more common.

Not really a stupid question. But I guess perhaps an interesting one. Although I agree there's no real way that such a survey on here can produce a definitive answer. Those that think that may be stu....

Anyway, as it seems to garner responses and opinions (of whatever shade) I think that's one of the things forums such as this are good for. Even if they are ultimately pointless.

You might ask AI about rimfire sales in UK to see if that correlates with the smaller sample of opinion from here. I’m sure I have seen more rimfire options recently than in the past. Others see this as a pointless question but that’s what downtime at Christmas is all about and nobody got hurt, so why not?
You should add Browning to the list, Best Wishes.

I appreciate it’s never going to be accurate or of any use. I just thought it was interesting.
Might do another poll later on with 22lr, 17 hmr or wmr 😂

Yeah well I thought so mate, each to their own ain’t it
Browsing is a good point though.
Cheers Rob

So apparently the Marlin mod 60 has been the most widely produced .22LR since its introduction in 1960 with over 11 million guns sold. I’d reason that by volume alone it’s got to be a top contender. However it’s not on the above list….

I never thought of marlin, I’ll see if I can still edit it now.
Some rifles sold though at 11 million
