They've been vaccinated. If it works, what does it matter either way?Let’s just hope you meet nobody over 45 then for the rest of your life as covid will not go away for along time yet.

Just as well not everybody thinks like that then is it not? Otherwise nobody would take the vaccine, look around Italy locked down, Paris to lockdown as France fears third wave. For once this country is leading the way back to normality. They've been vaccinated. If it works, what does it matter either way?
I draw the line at the hospitalisation and death number charts. Under 45 and you've got as much chance of sprouting a fanny as you have of dying of covid. Well maybe not that unusual, but it's close.
So do I take it you have not been vaccinated agains, Polio, Chickenpox/Smallpox, Mumps etc or did you parents take a slightly more scientific approach as that’s how those diseases have now been almost eradicated in most western countriesMy take on it is I'd rather lick chip and pin machines than have a vaccine. Nature has provided us with immunity for as long as we've existed, I'm perfectly happy for that to continue. If I die, oh well, I'm hardly a rare species! At some point the human race needs to realise that its numbers are getting ridiculous. So what if a few of us die - lets face it that's exactly what the planet needs right now!
I need more clarification really. My understanding of a vaccine is that it's virus cells which have been made inert so the body can learn to fight it without being put at risk? So if I'm healthy enough my body should learn to fight it naturally by exposure. I can see why the vulnerable need a vaccine, I can't see why healthy people do? The end result regarding me spreading it should be the same once that immunity has been established?

This probably the best newspaper in Qld. Far more entertaining than the Courier mail
I wouldn't ever dream of telling someone not to have a vaccine. It's personal choice. Lucky or not a lot of people are having it. Nobody so far has been able to tell me why a natural immunity won't work the same as a vaccination immunity? I'm all ears. I want things explained - simply telling me I'm stupid isn't going to change my mind but I welcome anyone to explain it to me so I might.Just as well not everybody thinks like that then is it not? I spoke to a “young 40” lady in America yesterday she was desperate for the vaccine.

You're perfectly within your rights to ask those questions. They are vaccines, that are rough 9 months old, that have been granted an emergency licence, and have no long term test data.I wouldn't ever dream of telling someone not to have a vaccine. Going back months and looking at the hospitalisation and death rate charts for people in my age group, it's hardly roulette. More similar to going outside and crossing a busy road. But to get natural immunity you have to catch covid, the outcome of which could result in you being asymptomatic passing the virus around without even knowing so, or you maybe one of the unlucky ones and end up in intensive care putting yet more strain on the NHS or even dying. Surly having the vaccine is better than playing Russian roulette with yours or other people’s lives.
If you are all ears ask your parents what you were vaccinated against as a child thats how a number of serious diseases have been largely eradicated in this country, Polio Smallpox Mumps etc. Or did the doctors say you didn’t need any as you were clearly going to be a “natural immunity” childI wouldn't ever dream of telling someone not to have a vaccine. That wasn't my choice. It's irrelevant. If you are all ears ask your parents what you were vaccinated against as a child thats how a number of serious diseases have been largely eradicated in this country, Polio Smallpox Mumps etc. Or did the doctors say you didn’t need any as you were clearly going to be a “natural immunity” child
May be because the heard immunity is starting to take effect in your area. I would guess you are younger than I so see the risks differently. Then their is the issue of if you want to travel to different parts of this country or even leave the country to go abroad. If you are in an age group that gets offered the vaccine then only you can decide, depending on your risk assessment and lifestyle.Going back months and looking at the hospitalisation and death rate charts for people in my age group, it's hardly roulette. Likewise, I still don't know anyone who's died from it. Loading a thousand round revolver cylinder, spinning it and pulling the trigger is hardly playing roulette with other people either. There's not a single covid patient in ICU in my area currently.
I'm 40, so on the verge of where the risks start to increase apparently. Herd immunity will start to play a huge part, and I suspect in time the vaccine will become less and less relevant. I fully appreciate the vulnerable needing it, that's fine, but do the rest of us really need it? What I don't like is just stabbing everyone for the sake of it before we really understand the long term impact of this. I suspect it will soon become just another niggle. Herd immunity will probably see it all but disappear amongst healthy people. It's just another new virus which came as a shock to our systems.May be because the heard immunity is starting to take effect in your area. What it’s irrelevant that vaccines work and have saved millions of lives perhaps including yours, interesting view on modern medicineThat wasn't my choice. It's irrelevant.
You might not like to hear this but I find your attitude selfish in the extreme.Going back months and looking at the hospitalisation and death rate charts for people in my age group, it's hardly roulette. More similar to going outside and crossing a busy road.
