Wicked Lights Rekon Pig Saddle Tripod System

Hi all
Has anyone got any experience with the Wicked Lights Rekon Pig Saddle Tripod System? I need to replace my old quad sticks and thought these might be a good option in terms of stability and ease of use. Cheers

Relatively heavy, even with the lighter hog saddle but very stable, entirely dependant on intended use, if a lot of static sitting/standing waiting, great, if you want to walk miles with it you may be disappointed.

I have one and enjoy using it. Its a more static 'watch and shoot' kinda tool but that's not to say you couldn't stalk with it.

As said before a bit weighty with the hog saddle but if your using an arca system alot lighter.

Have only used mine in anger out to 150m but was happy to take the shot on both occasions.

I use mine all the time, a really good piece of kit, but as Deerstalker said primarily for static shooting for that it's perfect.

yep i’ve got a set of them and would mirror DS308’s comments really good pieces of kit but not good for a walk and stalk, i’m using a set of carbon swaro tripod sticks that i have had many years which have been/are fantastic but have now just worn out and can’t be tightened up anymore, i’m looking for a replacement but yet to find any
there are some really good tripods out there that use a spigot on the forend i use a lot of different rifles so that doesn’t appeal to me albeit it’s a good system I want to get a set of well made carbon tripod sticks with just a rotating v on top, all is not lost hopefully i keep looking

They’re good I have a set though quad sticks are more stable I think and lighter to carry but for watch and wait shooting you can’t beat the tripod

I use my ones all the time when out foxing, set it up, clamp the rifle into the pig saddle and start scanning with the thermal, rifle is ready to take the shot quickly when needed, the tripod is a bit heavier than my viper flex sticks and all my foxing is done on foot, so I just have to get on with it.
The setup worked well last night again

I've got a rekon tripod and viper flex quad sticks and use both depending on the situation. If I know I'm going to sit stationary somewhere I'll take the tripod and setup the rifle on it - it's perfectly stable and easy to pan around for a shot no matter where the target comes out. If I'm out walking/stalking I'll take the quad sticks - much quicker to setup than the tripod although it can be a bit of a fiddle to track a moving target.

they are great if you want a stand up some ware for an ambush ,use mine for foxing great bit of kit ,if out mobile use the quad sticks

I have both hog saddle and quad sticks. I generally only use quad sticks certainly for deer. If i was sat up for a troublesome fox then i may use the hog saddle and lock the rifle in.
