Available: Wild Boar in Dorset

Well with him still being a Trade member and advertising this on this site i would have thought he would look in on occasion to answer some questions. As he has done for every other question asked.
I am not chasing someone all over the place to spend some money with them.
I have asked some genuine questions and if they can not be answered by the pro hunter/seller then i can only assume the success rate is not very high.
sorry my questions where not worth answering i will look else where for some wild boar shooting.

As Claret_Dabbler said above, I don't think he's had time to check the site much recently. I've just texted him to let him know. He replied to say he is currently out with clients but will check in later.

Ian tends to look in around breakfast time, if he is not out on the ground,................ very busy set up with Ian & Jo, you would do well to persevere.

Hi Folks,

Apologies that I haven't followed this thread for a time. Alex has just jogged my elbow & reminded me that it is still active.

Cam - Let me try to give you what you want.
We normally have one outing a month for the pigs, until last month we have only placed two people in seats - however, we now have a third site with an adjacent highseat.
Over the last twelve months, five pigs have been taken off the ground. Normally, at least one of the shooters would see or hear pigs in the vicinity of his stand. However, these are wild animals that do not necessarily read the book & we cannot guarantee either sight or shot.

Hope this helps, & if you should reconsider taking a trip down to Dorset, give me a yell through my email info@farringtonds.com - I will be glad to answer any other questions you may have.

Rgds

Ian :)

Hi Ian
Thank you for getting back to me.

I understand that the boar are wild and don't all ways play ball for one reason or the other.
Do you feed the area prior to your clients coming in on the full moon?
Do you use a clock system similar to what they use in Germany
or do you use stealth cams.with the aim of knowing if it is Worth putting your clients up an high seat.
If so and nothing is showing would you cancel the booking until such time as pigs are in and around the area and feeding well from under seats.

you say 5 have been shot over the last year. Is that with your clients or from around that area.

is 5 a year about average for 12 trips out ?

I'm asking all this as i would like to know what to expect and would hope that the pigs where at least feeding from under the high seats at least once or twice a week. If not i could be in for a long wait and many trips.
I'm sure you can put my concerns to rest and hopefully i will be booking with you and bagging one of dorsets finest.

Hi Cam,

Yes, the area is visited three times prior to each outing, the feeders re-charged & loose grain broadcast & 'trailed' to stop passing pigs and lead them onto the feeder site.

No, we do not use the Wilduhr, but do have a infra-red stealth cam to ascertain if the boar are using the farm. Freshly used feeders are very obvious. The last outing showed signs of obvious use, the securing chain having been snapped & the 60lb feeder rolled 90 yds off across the field.

I have not had the situation you refer to - there has always been boar sign on the grounds while shooting. I have postponed a few shoots due to fog and adverse weather.

Five pigs have been shot on this specific farm, by visiting stalkers using my seats & feeders. Meanwhile other pigs have been shot in the local area, West1 & others stalking the outside perimeter of my grounds.

5 pigs has been the average over the year I have been offering commercial access.

Hopefully, this has answered each of your questions & set your mind at rest. If so, then I look forward to you booking with me - and hopefully bagging one of Dorset's porkers.

Rgds
