I've just returned from 3 days hunting with @HungarianHunter. It was a fixed price deal for boar and red deer calves (virtually yearlings) from high seats and on foot.
Two of us flew with Easyjet from Gatwick to Budapest with our own rifles, all went smoothly although clearing customs in Budapest took longer than anticipated (mainly due to Hungary hosting an international clay competition this week which meant more guns than usual coming into the airport).
The lodge is about 2 hours drive; it's warm and comfortable with ensure twin rooms. We were collected by local guides at 5.15am each morning and hunted on foot for 3 hours. We then had breakfast at a local hotel which was a couple of minutes walk from the lodge. The rest of the day was our own until we set of at 5.30pm to sit in highseats until dark. Supper, using wild boar, and a few beers followed before turning in for the night.
We shot 3 boar and 4 deer between the two of us. The guides knew the ground well and were very respectful of the game, including giving each animal it's last bite. We enjoyed the trip and will be booking another soon.
