Will this be the new norm?

Tracks have just dried out also lambing starting soon also not been to this block for a while but hatched a plan for a muntjac then later a fox, nothing showing until 6.20 till the last one fell at 6.45, so with out a NV kit they would remain not shot with the dark back ground of the wood, while I was cleaning them out I had a quick scan and 2 more had moved in
6 muntjac in a 10 acre field  and 2 more crossed the road on the way home lol
With the flood of new night licence's coming those who are not seasoned fox shooters will be seeing a lot more than the tip of the deer iceberg.

Some nice shooting again mate.
Looks like you'll need to pay another couple of visits to get on top of them

Ta Colin, you can't get on top only try to keep up, it is the out let which is the problem as 1 from the 4 took one under the chin the others in the side so the front end will be written off.

Interesting. Those of you with hoards of muntjac, have you many roe left or have they been displaced by the muntjac?

Used to shoot a wood with Fallow Roe Muntjac so never bought into that theory, no roe in my part of Essex but they start about 12 miles from me north and west. Much prefer Fallow and Muntjac,

Someone put it to me recently that they had observed that as muntjac move into an area in numbers the roe start to disappear. Worth those wishing for muntjac in their areas to reflect whether they really want that if it comes at the expense of their roe stalking?

Roe are persecuted and have almost been wiped out in some areas, both can live in harmony quite easily, on the bit I use in Essex the neighbouring stalker and I have a common arrangement to leave to roe alone to let them bound back which suits me, I can shoot roe at home.
