Winchester .22 Subs

Now i'd read reports but took it with a pinch of salt. Just bought 200 winchester 42gn subs which always go well through my CZ and i've had two go crack, supersonic.

Point of aim also well off compared to the old box i finished off last week.

I bought some CCI to try so we will see how they go. I even mentioned to the RFD that i'd heard people were having issues with the Winchesters.

What subs are people using now?

Rifle is CZ455 with SAK moderator. Usually not much louder than an air rifle.

I had always used RWS subs but couldn’t any one time and after being told the 42gr Winchesters were a good round to use I bought some first couple of boxes I went through were great but after that they were really inconsistent, I bought some RWS as soon as I could, which were great, I believe are the same as Norma, hope this was useful.

I bought a slab of them, probably have 200 left as they're so all over the place with consistency, i've had lots of super sonic and even had a proper ear ringer where the case split and the base separated about 80% from the rest of the case (this all through a moderated ruger precision). Now using Sellior & Bellot HP subsonics until i find something that groups a little tighter

I've tried three different dealers today for the RWS or Norma Subsonic HP but no one stocked them

I have had exactly the same issue. Went to rezero the other day and had a mix of super and subsonic, and were all over the place.

As above, tried winchesters as they were always my go to .22 but since they changed the box from white to blue (they were fine still) then to black (they are p**h) my benelli groups better. So moved into rws, they are spot on and they do say cci are ok to.

Used nothing but 40gr Winchester subsonics through my CZ for 20+ years
When the available supplies ran out and nothing but the 42gr were available,I had to switch over
Very disappointed, kills were just as good but the accuracy is terrible with supersonic flyers too
Now switched to Eley subsonics…accuracy is 1/2” or under at 50 yards all day long

My t1x loves the 42g winchesters but they changed a little while back from being made in Australia to the USA or maybe the other way around and the quality has dropped massively with **** poor heads and a number going supersonic. I’ve got a few hundred of the older ones left and also use CCI segmented which work a dream, group VERY well although cost a fortune.

Always used Eley subs but thought them to be a little dirty, more of a concern now I use semis... Ruger 10 22 and S+W MP so changed to CCI subs 40 grain hollow point and never looked back, absolutely no issues.😁
