Can’t spell Anemometer!
Bought this from Temu along with some other useless tat.
Wouldn’t switch on even though some writing implied there was a battery present.
On the back it mentions batteries but I had to cut the case away to get to the battery hatch!
Opened that to find no battery. It needs one of those round metallic ones.
Now it has a hole in the back of the casing.
Won’t be buying from Temu again.

I bought one ages ago that is just the blade and has a 3.5mm jack on it so clips into your smartphone and gives you live wind speed and the corrections straight to Strelok or whatever app you're using.

Second hand kestrels can be had for not much money, weatherflow do both plug in jack plug types and bluetooth versions that work with ballistic apps

I have one similar to that somewhere that I bought a few years ago. The actual wind meter itself is black and the orange plastic thing you cut is like an outer protective jacket. Basically the black meter itself should prise out of the orange jacket with a little encouragement (if it is anything like mine)

You definitely get extra kudos points for quite a neat hole with your knifework.
