I, like many others dumped 17 HMR back along when the ammo was terrible. Had a few WMR's and find it a very useful chambering. I'm not tempted to have another 17 HMR, as I completely lost faith in the ammunition quality.
The actual velocity generated by the WMR exceeds factory data, making a pleasant change from some wildly optimistic velocity claims on centrefire ammo.
For example, Hornady 30 grain V-Max 2250 v 2200 published. Remington 33 grain Accu-Tip 2111 v 2000 published and CCI Maxi-mag 40 grain HP 1911 v 1875 published. All from a 20 inch barrel.
Regarding stock holding of 22 WMR, Dauntsey Guns carry a good, varied selection.
