Woodpigeon: pest or a quarry species?

Should we try to get woodpigeon on to the quarry list, while retaining the species on the general licences for bird pest control?

Absolutely.
To my mind the woodpigeon should be considered a game bird species.
They’re good to eat and there’s plenty of them.
It would be great to see BASC aggressively push for this.
Tackle it HEAD ON !

I have read all the comments, which contain a mix of views and advice, all of which I think need to be considered should we see the quarry species lists opened up for public consultation anywhere in the UK.

I've read all the comments, which contain a mix of views and, quite frankly wish I hadn't feckin' bothered!! 🤣🤣

From how I see things Conor, if you are selling or promoting something then you should know the subject inside out.
You can't make a good referee unless you understand ALL the rules....
Do you know where the use of a scarecrow came from in the use of a non lethal deterrent for pigeons?
It is part of the GL.

Leave well alone. More need for licensing the control of badgers and pine martens. All the nonsense of reintroducing beavers and lynx, absolute madness.

****er.
How many pigeons would I need to shoot before I am allowed to have an opinion?
Well it would help if you had some experience on the subject but you just resort to name calling 🤦‍♂️
While we are on we might as well have a close season for rabbits too 🤣
