Would anyone be interested in an affordable, UK made induction annealing machine?

I see his first production run on the horizon.... 👍
Thanks everyone - just to update you. The automated induction annealer is still in the works. My electrical engineering pal has found that getting the induction circuitry right has been tricky as he wants to avoid the need for liquid cooling if possible, but it's close to ready now. Then the next step is to perfect the automated carousel apparatus to feed the cases into the annealing coil. Once he has made a prototype that is acceptably functional and can run 20 or so cases through the annealing coil without needing any human input, he will post a YouTube video of it in action so that people can critique the design, then he will refine it and offer it to people who want one.

With regard to timelines, I estimate 6 months to get a video fit to show people and 12 months to go from that to an available annealer. They would be made one by one by my electrical engineering pal to order on a first come, first serve basis so timeline after that point would depend on how many people wanted them and where in the queue a person was.

Apologies if I have a missed it but have you a target price in mind at this stage?

I am on a small budget and can't afford to pay more than about £800 for an annealer so I have asked my pal to make mine to approximately that price. It will therefore be a no-frills, aesthetically basic apparatus compared to the likes of the AMP annealer but as long as it is capable of reliably annealing batches of cases I will be happy with it.

Anymore updates on these?

I'm not knocking your idea or enthusiasm, but it's more than 2 years since your original post and you've just said that there's no progress
Several people have expressed an interest, but how long do you think that they would be willing to wait?

Cheers

Bruce

Thanks Bruce - yes if I had £1906 to spare then an AMP annealer with the case feeder apparatus would be sitting on my desk right now but I am self-employed on a small budget so I will see what comes out of my pal's experiments before I decide where to spend my limited disposable income. Other people may think similar or not, as the case may be.

Like Starmer, his supporters on here will not believe anyone who is self-employed is on a small budget.

I’ll pass it on to the boss and see what he says - many thanks for thinking of us! I doubt it’ll be something to be taken on, but you never know 🙂
Go to YouTube and search for "induction annealer" for some inspiration from some of the other low cost home made designs out there.
