I’ve recently bought a 1985 XT350 that has been stored for 24yrs, it’s unmolested and original apart from the exhaust which is after market and rotted through, anyone have any parts of any description laying about or know of a decent source them?
I don’t do faceache or any of that so I don’t access to any “groups”

Hi.
You will have to bite the bullet and get on the internet and Facebook or eBay.
Unfortunately it's the way of the world.
I'm still looking for some bits for my 1984 honda cr 250.
Happy hunting 👍.
Phil.

Can anyone recommend a proprietary brand of rust remover that works well and isn’t too dangerous to use pls?
Cheers

I was mainly looking for a complete exhaust system, a decent tank and a seat but I’d also be interested in anything 1985 XT350 as I’d like to build up a few spares in case I need them.
Cheers

Marving exhausts I'm sure they do exact replicas of original and they are very well made.
I've got a couple of marving on my 1100 katanas and they are really good.
If the tank isn't dented or just rusted through get an epoxy tank liner por15 I think the manufacturer is.
As for your seat there is pp seating in bham if there still going or saddlecraft in Newcastle upon Tyne area.
One of them makes metal bases and recovers to original.
You will find nos parts but there normally from Greece but remember they are still very old parts.
Getting good used parts in the UK you will struggle due to the poor weather we get.
Exhaust wise I'd certainly go for a replica of the original.
If you find a good one just remember it's 40 yrs old and the chances of the baffles being good are very low.
