Mickeydredd Well-Known Member Supporter Oct 20, 2025 #6 Is there a lack of prey in the area? Strange to see just a single chick.
Avianmanagement Active Member Oct 20, 2025 #7 Yes there are a LOT of Goshawks in this area and not a huge food supply. It is a large area of commercial forrest. Most nest even at a young age only had one chick. One nest had two large chicks, but one of those was dead about 2 weeks before fledging. I had only one nest with two chicks that fledge.
