Always found them too far forward on a Mauser 98 action without offset front rings due to the short tube and narrow mounting space; and the ocular very large so you could never mount them really low due to fouling if bolt handle. Also very image/shadow fussy.

C version is the 1” US designed one I think, the European (better) was the ZA t* i believe, often 26mm.

Great scopes, but esp for short actions with very low bolt handle lifts
