Wanted: Zeiss scope price

What would be a fair price these days for a Carl Zeiss 4x16x40 AOMC IL/RET Conquest
in A1 mint condition please.

Fake zeiss

Saw some older posts mentioning this but can anyone confirm. Seller can’t find any numbers on it and when I type in the model it instantly comes up on wish and alibaba. It looks very fake-ish to me. Just says Carl zeiss 4-16x50 aomc on it and I’ve only dealt with newer model zeiss.

Any photos? I owned quite a few of the old Zeiss Conquests and the only illuminated reticle 4-16 x 40 ones i recall are the fakes referred to.

Don’t think Zeiss made a scope with adjustable objective, only side parallax

If the specification you say is correct then it is a fake.
Zeiss never made a conquest like that

I've reported few times to ebay and egun fake Conquest scopes and always sellers claim that scopes are genuine. Madness...

Oh yes they do! Not the olden time ones but more modern stuff most indeed they exist. As a sidetrack to this thread it could be argued that Docter Optic 'scopes and certainly Zeiss-Jena 'scopes were "fake" Zeiss but that's another topic.

HOWEVER ON THE MAIN TOPIC I DO SEE THAT THERE ARE ILLUMINATED ZEISS 4-16x44 WITH ILLUMINATED RETICULE. AS THIS USA WESBITE SHOWS SUCH:

The Zeiss v4 4-16x44 is readily available here but there is no 4-16x40 model like the op describes so it is a fake.
