Zeiss Service and East Coast Binoculars

I recently decided I would treat myself to some new binos this year, and discussed with my stalking mate which I’d go for.
I like very much my Steiner 8x56 but they’re heavy when you’re in the hill. I have even taken the wife’s Leica 6x20‘s out with me in Scotland, and unless it’s first or last light, they’re impressive.
Before a decision was made, he gifted me his old Zeiss 8x42 which had been replaced by a pair of range finding Swaros.
The focus ring was locked solid, but the glass was very impressive, even at 25+ years old. I took them to Gary Hawkins at East Coast Binos for a full service, quite prepared to pay as they were worth it. Blow me - full service and postage back to my home address all covered by Zeiss.
Wow. I am very surprised. These days I’m used to people trying their best to wheedle out of any after care, so to me this is a big deal.

So - a big thank you firstly to Gary at East Coast Bino’s whom I’ve used previously and he’s never failed to impress me, and secondly to Zeiss for taking pride in their product and having a great after sales service.

Met a few of the Zeiss Representatives at a large Pro/Am rifle match last fall.
Had an issue with my older 10x45RF Victory.
Eye cup extension feature on right eye had given up.
They fixed the issue and took my address to mail replacements for both sides.
Excellent customer service.
