Hi
What is the best clip on thermal for me to use from the Zeiss DTC3/25, DTC3/36 or DTC4?
I shoot lot of Roe in Aberdeenshire (mostly open fields, clear fells and heather hillsides - NOT inside in woodland) with a Tikka T3 308 + Zeiss 3-12x56. Due to the open terrain, I cant always get close-in, so I am shooting between 100m-250m. As I am shooting the Roe mostly for "pest control", I also use a handheld Pulsar thermal for a quick initial spot. My "big lens" scope is brilliant for dusk shooting, but there are two short comings with it (1) at very last light, if a Roe moves from a light coloured field to the the darkness of a tree line, it suddenly becomes impossible to see in the scope - we have all been there! (2) locating a Roe for a shot by looking through my hand held thermal imager and then looking my rifle scope isn't always the easiest thing to do, and by the time I have picked up the Roe through my rifle scope, sometimes it has moved off. I think a clip-on thermal would solve these two short comings.
I am a compulsive Zeiss buyer (multiple pairs of bino's, scopes & camera lens's !), which is why I am choosing this brand for a clip on thermal. My question is - which model is the best fit for me?
Appreciate any advice - especially if you do the same kind of stalking
Thanks
