Its good to see the 'zombie' knife/machete ban working so well.

Just like many other bits of recent 'anti-crime' legislation (anti-money laundering anyone?) it caches the innocent and the criminals take no notice.

Just ordered some razor blades from Amazon, turns out we have to have proof of age upon delivery.

That'll stop kids carrying knives and killing each other, criminals mugging/killing people with large sharp objects.
 
It is a way for the government to bring in quick legislation like this to show “look we are dealing with it “ it always targets the wrong people . It will not stop people killing other people as the majority of murders are carried out with every day type knives! Look how quick hand guns we’re banned no thoughts for the decent reliable person.
 
If your old enough to have a beard, your old enough to have a razor. I remember a time when razor blades were pushed into a potato & hurled at opposition supporters. And darts. What a revolting (sport)?
 
I fish and generally pay cash at the lake. I wandered into my bank in town and asked the cashier to change a £20 note for four £5 notes. ‘Sorry, but cannot do that’ she said. I asked why and the reply was ‘anti money laundering legislation’ I said it was just £20 but it made no difference. I had to withdraw £20 from a machine in the branch, hand it to her, pay my twenty in to my account and get four fivers. A few months later I again needed fivers and popped into another bank in town (not mine) handed over the twenty and was given four fivers.

Grandson had the same sort of thing he went into the local bank with his birthday money and wanted to change it for 50p pieces as he had started collecting the different type ones. He had to pay it in and then draw it back out when the bank clerk went to pay him he asked for it all in 50p’s she was not happy giving a Hundred pounds worth.

That is mainly due to cost, he was lucky the bank had £100 in 50p, they have to pay to get that amount in and send it back.
 
On a related note - how are sellers on here posting their knives?. I have a few nice knives and a hunting axe I want to shift but I understand that Royal Mail is only doing 18 aged verification post for people with professional accounts. How do people send knives these days? Who else is reliable. I have heard horror stories on other forums of knives being confiscated etc and I bought a knife off a chap from the Bushcraftuk forum and he had a nightmare getting it to me.

One of my main issues with this sort of government legislation is it clearly demonstrates that one’s rights are not inalienable, and are in fact entirely dependent on the actions of one’s fellow man.

Yet another reason I loathe collectivist politics …
