Driven hunts.

My friend sent this picture from a couple I got on my November trip. He's getting them mounted, shame ones broken.

Some pictures from Portugal last weekend.

The peg was on a track, on a very steep hillside, 3-4mts wide. This is the view in front, or should I say, lack of view !

Down the track to the left.

This tried to sneak out, about 30yds down the track. I'd heard a single twig snap, and waited gun up, knowing I'd have very little time !

Turned out to be better than I thought.

Some perspective, mine's the small one.

Total of 27 shot on the day.

Looks like a fine hunt there looks a bit warmer than where we were. Some nice teeth you have there will look good on a shield, got my skin being done too haven't told the Mrs yet

I have just returned from Germany after shooting in temperatures of -11 to -17 deg C and I can tell you it was bloody cold. We ended up with a mixed bag of 142 animals consisting of Red, Roe, Fallow, Boar and a few Fox. 27 boar were shot and the majority was deer, I cant say that the driven deer was to my liking but it was on a beautiful estate and everyone was made to feel welcome. The GWP's were awesome to watch and one tracked a wounded deer for 4.5 KM and found it.

The same group of lads I went with are looking to try boar again later this year or next but this time without the deer. Can anyone recommend where we can get 50 to 90 boar with a group of 15 guns?

I do like the A1 Decoy adverts so will be contacting him soon, anyone been on one of his hunts this year?

Thanks

DS

Doesn't do it for me either, and I hate seeing the carnage that normally ensues !

I've asked my Portuguese friend to avoid booking hunting days where we can shoot the deer too, because these days always seem to be heavily biased towards deer, with relatively few boar shot.

90 boar over 3 days, to 15 guns, is not going to be a cheap trip, but certainly the type I'd like to do at some point.
