Quad bike insurance?

Problem is Lee, it would appear that as I only have house and contents insurance with them and not a vehicle policy, they won't touch it.
I've had a phone round and can get it insured for £150 with a £250 excess, Adrian Flux wanted nearly £200 with a £500 excess..... With that excess it's hardly worth it. I agree it's about what it's worth to you, and how much added value you place on it. Is just galling that it has to have its own stand alone policy.... Ho hum.

Stunned NFU cant or wont insure it - I thought they would insure anything which moved under its own power and some that didnt !!!

I couldn't get the NFU to accept that my X-Trail would be used off road - they told me they couldn't insure things that were going to be used off the road. When I asked if they also insure tractors they said they did. They also can't insure a pickup on anything but a commercial vehicle policy at huge cost. So, my experience has been that I've no idea if they will insure anything at all
