Species you would like to hunt

Dassies with 30-06 is good target practise:lol::lol:.Sometimes you can see them in their holes in the rocks, then you just drop 165gr round in there, just to keep them on their toes:lol:
Baboons is challenging, I would be surprised if anyone could shoot "dozens"on a trip to Africa.
I had a day sat by the side of the road in Zim one time, I shot 6 and 3 monkeys, they kept coming down for the maize that had spilt off the trailers during harvest, was relaxing and challenging, they quicker than you realise and their not stupid.

Where to begin?

Well logically with in the UK. Red stags (to be achieved in august if all goes to plan), A days driven grouse, a medal roe buck (im in no hurry or need but would be nice).

In europe: A day on Spanish Partridge, driven boar in easter europe, stalked boar in france.

The rest of the world A Kudu bull, Cape Buff, Gemsbok, Sable, impala, zebra, dare i say it...Lion and just like the Lion if i felt the circumstances were genuinely right Elephant but they would have to be part of a genuine surplus so elephant is far more likely than lion the way it seems to be going.

Thank god i am only 18 so should have plenty of time to earn all the money i will need to achieve this but for now at least time is on my side.

There is also very little i wouldn't shoot under the right circumstance apart from rhino and tiger (i refuse to accept in my life time there will ever be a surplice) and cheetah and leopard (unless man eaters then i would simply have to oblige)

I know a good salt lick in Jasper national park where you can get pretty close. ;)

Shame theres no goat hunting allowed there. :(

I got so close to the Deer there that I could have slapped them on the ass! A wonderful place to visit if you don't mind leaving the rifle at home for at least part of your trip.

Species I would really like to hunt are Bear, Moose, Cape Buffalo, and more simple to achieve, Boar. I'll need a new rifle for the Buff though!

African plains game. All in a fair chase environment. Species specifically, kudu, gemsbock, wildebeest, impala and springbok.

Always wanted a go at moose but to be honest, when I was close up to a few in Nova Scotia a couple of years ago I kind of lost the urge.

For me it would be Chamois, Muoflon or Ibex, and perhaps some of the big reds of Eastern Europe.

Oh and in thirty years of shooting I've never managed to kill a snipe...would be nice to get equal with one before I need a zimmer.

A nice big Spanish partridge day would go down well too...or just a few days without rain!

Blonde

My last remark was not as fatuous as it may appear at first glance, when I was young
I thought I would like to see a blonde with matching 'collar & cuffs' and have hunted for
same for over 50 years in more than 30 countries and have yet to see one in the wild.

As time has progressed I now realise I have been training for 50 years as an amateur to
be what I am now, a proffesional 'Dirty old Man'.

I do not have a moment of regret over the huge cost in time and money. The hunt has been wonderful.

I have had similar with my quest for truely wild beaver, I've had a go at European and North American but never caght up with a Brazilian no matter how much I stalk

Nothing too fancy or exotic for me at the moment, so far I've only stalked Roe. First on my list is an open hill stalk for a Red, followed by a stalk for Muntjac. After that I don't know why, but I would love to go hunting deer in Sweden or Norway, I think I just like cold weather!!

There are not that many dream beasts that I hav never dreamt about being able to afford to try for, but i think my ultimate would be spear fishing for Great Whites, followed by Cape buffalo
Those 2 hav always appealed to me
