Yup... different bolt head... on my ticket I have slots for blaser 6.5x55 rifle, 300 wtby Mag barrel, .204R Barrel, Magnum Bolt Head & Mini Bolt Head.. all listed separately.

Please forgive me but you spend top side of 3k on a rifle and mounts and you think it's flash because you can take the scope off 3 times and hit the "8in ?"gong in between! !
I've an old 595 with a pick rail I put on on that goes my swaro mounted in some qr rings off ebay and I regularly swap tween that and my drone and still be in target for a quarter of the price
Well guess it's like wanting to drive a flash motor or being happy in a punto as both get you there but one gets more looks

It doesn't though.. it returns to sub MOA... more like 1/2 MOA in reality, and that's not just taking the scope off and putting it back on, that's stripping the rifle down completely, changing barrel/calibre, changing Bolt Head, re-attaching same scope and dialling in known clicks difference between calibres and firing...

Repeat as many times as you like and it will be back to 1/2 MOA with all barrels/calibres

It's a quick release scope mount system. There are many such systems about. You can do this on any rifle you care to fit such a system to.

I've had/got QD mounts on all my rifles, mostly Mannlicher/MSch. All the mounts are Mannlicher except on the MSch, which is a combination of Recknagel & Ziegler.

Every one of them returns to zero after detachment/replacement and have done for the thirty five years I've enjoyed shooting. QD's are in my view brilliant and I'd always opt for them rather than fixed mounts.

I think a lot of people don't realise that many 'conventional' mounts can effectively be used as QD mounts. You may need a tool (hex key), and it may take 45 seconds rather than 5, but I think that's a negligible trade-off against the price and sensitivity of many 'genuine' QD systems.

I certainly don't find it too onerous. I always have a set of relevant torx/allen keys in my stalking kit anyway in case something works itself loose (can't see how, but it could happen).

I guess they are the only advantage of the Blaser fittings..speed and no tools required. However I rarely have to remove my scope...just when doing a deep barrel clean, and there is certainly no pressure on me to do it fast.

But every positive mounting design should be able to be repositioned without distortion or POI shift....it is just bits of metal coming together in the same place after all.

Every assassins sniper rifle on film has always just clipped together with no drama...other than the tension mounting image editing and background sound track!
