Last week there was a short piece of footage on the BBC local late eve news of a pig caught on CCTV in what appeared a very built up part of Gloucester. Comment on TV was it a pot bellied pig, looked like a boar to me. Did anybody else see it and if so any comments

Lots of fools bought micro pigs. And as you can work out they grew and grew and ate all in sight. Then some lazy owners let them go or they escaped :)

It gives the public something to fret about and journalists to write about, makes a change from cats stuck in trees on slow news days

I did a bit of digging and there is Guardian article. Link to the police twitter site and its clearly a wild boar and was on Westgate St right in the middle of Gloucester. (12th July).

No dustbin would be safe, tricky cull plan I thinks

[FONT=arial, sans-serif]https://www.thesun.co.uk/archives/news/754063/boar-war/ Proof of a media based panic. We have a few kicking about that escaped from the local sporting estate.
The media came and caused such a hype about it. folk were scared to go out.
BUT! They do taste great

They can be dangerous, but more often than not they arent, unless people are tempted to corner them or get too close.
Its understandable people get scared due to not being used to them, after all they have been extinct in your parts for a few hundred years.

Boar however want nothing to do with humans.
