I'm after a pair of trousers for stalking that need to be completely silent so a brushed/woolly surface. I'd rather not have a waterproof lining. Nomad are great but a bit too hot. Can't seem to find anything so any ideas welcome.

The rovince anti tick trousers are quiet, no waterproof liner which I think is a real mistake though

Don't be like the cowboy in the Wild West. He bought a pair of trousers made from brown paper. He was hanged for rustling.

Fleece is the absolute best of all for our bush hunting. We hunt in cover and if one was to wear the Euro line of strides you simply telegraph that you are coming. My Danish mate sounded like a leopard sawing as he walked..I cringed!

Hunters Element are a decent line without the high prices and believe or not they handle blackberry canes without tearing.I wont wear anything other than fleece for the quietness.
We also wear Ridgeline strides at times also Stoney Creek fleece.

Its hard to toss a five piece pack for the price as below. at the price of 60 quid theres no risk...the other brands have similar packs as well.

Been using the kuiu attack pants for several years. They are quiet and will dry out fast. They will rip on barb wire and brsmbles but are comfortable to wear. The other is stoney creek micro tough pants. They are stronger but a bit hotter.

I use Hoggs green Moleskin trousers for shooting in autumn/winter and green combats the rest of the year, you can pick them up cheap enough. I don't bother with waterproof trousers personally as I find them too hot.

I stalk in British MTP trousers. If you get the tropical version they are treated with Permethrin and protect against ticks. They are silent. I layer up with merino long Johns in the winter. No good if it's very wet though.

The only really silent trouser I had were surplus "66 pattern DPM, soft and very comfy too.

My father in law picked up a box of these at a boot fair a few years ago and they are like a pair of well worn pyjamas, warm soft and totally silent but not trendy or branded!

What you really need to do is strip naked and smear yourself all over with cammo cream. Nothing to snag on the bushes then (well, not much), and you might even get the chance to stalk in the company of those two charming young ladies featured in the "letter to santa" thread.
