Hello everyone - I need a bit of help here.
BASC has sent me an e-mail (I am a member) advising of a seminar in USK-so I thought I would check on The DI. It appears that Alan John Thornely is a director - see links.
Also whilst looking at stuff generally, I understand, but could be wrong, that Philippa Mary Bursey was the secretary and finance director at BASC and left (resigned) as part of the Stephen Ali 'incident'. She was a director at BASC and is now a director at the DI. If this is correct how can a person so entangled with the problems at BASC turn up at a BASC wholly owned company ? (Charity). The address of the DI is interesting. In its best year it apparently turned over £600K ish.
The references to Alan John Thornley OBE appear to show a complaint to the Derbyshire Constabulary which was not upheld and a potential conviction for affray. I could be wrong but the same reference mentions 'fraud' but there does not appear to be any substantiation of this label.
If any of these apparent allegations are true how is M Thornley OBE Vice Chair at BASC and how is Philippa Mary Bursey still linked to BASC through the DI ?
I could be wrong but do read and let me know if your thoughts if you find any truth in this.

Look under the people drop menu - you will find Mr Thonley and C Graffius - current acting CE - BASC
The deer initiative also runs
Wild boar guidance, guides, management (see the bottom of the page)
The new WALES Director BASC was previously at the deer initiative - one wonders at the interview questions since the acting chief executive at BASC is also a director of DI-------
The UK's largest shooting association, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, has appointed a new director for Wales.
Steven Griffiths, who was previously projects manager & deer liaison officer Wales at the Deer Initiative, was first introduced to shooting aged 10.
After leaving school he went on to Llysfasi Agricultural College and put his new skills to good use on the family farm.
He also spent 17 years working for the National Trust in countryside management.
