For those owners who have a Ruger M77 Mk2 in 243 cal I was wondering what make of ammunition has proven to be the most accurate and what grain.

It's a long time since I sold my Ruger in 243. I remember shooting Federal Power-Shok 100gr with it, however that's irrelevant. You need to see what you can source and then try it out. Or get a pal that can shoot to do a blind test of some ammo that you have purchased.

Good luck.

My M77 mark 1 shoots best with 100grn federal power shock soft point, use it for fox and deer but you need to try different types to find out which one is best for your rifle.

I have had the rifle a couple of months and on the whole am reasoably pleased with it. I bought a box of hornady 58gr superformance varmint rounds and a box of ppu 90gr rounds to try but was wondering if this rifle like a particular round. As advised I will try some different rounds down the spout and see how it shoots with those. Thank for your advice.

How did you get on?

Just curious. I have bought a very tidy m77 mk2 243 and was curious. I’ve got similar ammo to try so keen to find out for intrest sake.
