Hello everyone!
My name is Glenn and I just moved to France last week from the States! I'm a huge hunter/fisherman and am very passionate about the hunting/conservation. I've been warned its very hard to hunt here in France and was advised to try and get connected into the UK hunting and stalking community. Hunting for me is a life long passion and its not just about killing. For me, I just want to learn as much as I can about all type of hunting/stalking with good, passionate people, make lasting friendships and have fun along the way. Thank you so much for welcoming me here and I can't wait to get connected!

Sincerely,
Glenn

Welcome!

Used to live in Geneva, just over the border in Switzerland. France is a bit tough but it is getting better for new hunters.

Where are you in France?

Hi Glenn

Hunting in france providing you have an understanding on the language is easy to get into, First you need to pass a test simular to the DSC1 in the uk. once you have your certificate you can apply for a firearms, next you need to apply to the Federation de Chasse in your department and apply for a licence of which there are two one for petit gibier (small game ) or Grand gibier (large game) the large game licence is around 172 euros. Next you need to go to the Marie of your nearest village and ask for the name and number of the President of the local Chasse, contact the President and find out where the group meet and go along and introduce yourself.
My group charge a fee of 40euros per season ans 5 euros per outing for breakfast and lunch, All huning of large animals is carried out as a group, you are allocated a position and stay there until the hunt is finished, small game can be hunted on your own. so unlike the UK it is easy to go hunting for around 200 euros per season. after the hunt is finished be prepared to eat and drink lots as it is all part of the day, We will start driven Boar shooting in a couple of weeks, Cheers Geoff

Fédération des Chasseurs des Bouches du Rhône I think this department covers your area, if you approach the local chasse you could probably get a temporary permit to chasse, its a pity you are 600km south of me,
