Anybody using Barnes bullets in a .243 WSSM.
It will mainly be used for Deer and the occasional fox.
Would be interested to know Bullet weight, powder etc.
Cheers Steve.

WVM, I don't think you have much choice in the matter. The Barnes web site only lists a TTSX in an 80 Gr. and a TSX in an 85 grain. They do have a long range bullet in 95 gr. but you need a 1:8 twist for it. I would go with the 80 gr. TTSX. I have had good luck with 110 gr. in my .270 Win., very accurate and deadly.

Thanks,
What powder and how much are you using ???
Thanks
Steve.

Here's the Barnes load data in case you haven't already seen it:

The 80gr TTSX would be the best choice. They don't list a lot of easily available powders for it. If you can't get Reloader 17 or H414 then it would be worth trying Vihtavouri N160 (start from the Barnes 75gr data) or Ramshot Hunter (Ramshot lists load data for the 80gr TTSX online). If you emailed Barnes with the powders that you have available they will be able to help you with load data.

Thanks Takbok
Will look up the Barnes Data as suggested, I do have most of these powders, also Ramshot magnum which I've bought to try in my 7mm Rem Mag, thought it might be good for the WSSM.
Cheers Steve.

No problem. It would be interesting to hear what load you choose when you get around to it.
