They are probably the most fun to hunt of the big five. Cows are just as scary and cheaper. I notice Bushwack are offering those too at a good price.

I've read that they're the only African animal that will actively hunt you if you make a mess of it? I think my brain must be wired up wrong

Yep. If you wound them, they will sometimes lay a trail for you to follow and then double back and wait. That way, you see a trail up ahead and keep following that and suddenly get smacked from the sidelines. I doubt it is a conscious strategy in the human sense but it happens often enough to people for it to be interesting.
