Does 15x1 = 1/2" UNEF?

Hi all. Very quick (possibly stupid) question and sure I'll get a definitive quick answer...

Is a metric 15x1 thread identical (as in interchangeable) with an Imperial 1/2" UNEF please? As in: if my barrel has the imperial thread, can i buy a 15x1 mod thats good to go?

No they are not interchangeable.

1/2" UNEF is 28 tpi so its metric " equivalent " would be 12.7x0.9
