So, here's the story........ iv just ordered a new tikka ace target in man bun calibre that i want to put into a MDT Acc elite, yet to buy.
the forend on them is 19" long so this has stopped e getting one before as iv always had 20" barrels,
the ace target is 24", which means i will only have 5" to play with, (she said)
i currently have a Atac H3 over barrel mod that swallows up 3" so im guessing that only 2" of barrel will look silly,
on my 20" 223 in the PSE i have 8" so with mod on 5" barrel showing which looks spot on to me,
with the new suggested set up ill be having 5" of barrel showing so im thinking im going to have to go for a muzzle forward mod,
to achieve the same look as my current set up of 13" length from forend to end of mod, im going to need a new mod, preferably one a can stick a brake end cap on,
thats about 7-8", iv never had a muzzle forward mod on a CF so i have no idea whats what, are they good, bad, what makes are good if any, am i being a gimp, will only 2" of barrel showing look daft,
shall i just stick a muzzle brake on it, think i will buy one when i pick rifle up, just to see what there all about,
any input much appreciated, even if its abuse:lol:

Thanks.

Man up and get a T8..

ASE Utra if a target rifle.

The Svemko mods look good if you want something a bit lighter.
Running a comp today & one of the shooters had a Svemko mod on a 308 & it was very impressive!

As for the original question, stick the H3 on it & get on with it.

I have an A-tec CMM steel can that goes on the end of the barrel of my 6.5 & it’s a PITA as it makes the whole set up too long. It’s M18x1 thread if you fancy swapping for your H3?

i think the first thing will be to try the H3 first, i have been wrong about these things before, and at the end of the day, i shoot alone, so its not going to be seen by anyone really👍

I had an HQS Special Impact mod on my Tikka T3 Tac A1 and it was excellent on noise and recoil reduction.. I would definitely recommend them. They are also quite light and can be dismantled for cleaning

So… I looked up Svemko moderators. They look to be superb and really appealed to me, particularly mounting directly to the Svemko brake - like the AI tactical brake and mod and the B&T AG brake and mod. Then I looked at the prices…….. I will be sticking with my ASE Utra SL5i and SL7i both of which perform faultlessly and are virtually bombproof. Yes the Svemko’s are lighter and the Genesis in particular looks terrific, and comes with all the bits and bobs in a small case, but at over £2k, it is eye-wateringly expensive.

If for target use, ASE Utra all day.

I will question the point of buying the Ace Target though if you're immediately going to put it into a chassis... 🫣🫣

Would probably be cheaper buying a varmint and cerakoting it I would have thought?

buying the ace are a very economical way to get a decent barreld action with cerakote and 2 stage trigger.
then the chassis you can sell for 500

unfortunately mate, there is no method behind my madness, i generally just think of something and do it, and a lot of times change my mind,
i have thought the same today myself, i picked that rifle for a reason, im now half way through a change of mind, and thinking of just leaving the ace target alone, as it chassis wise similar enough to the Acc elite. and if i dont sell the PSE which i really dont want to have to do, if i decide i can always put the ace in that, and my 223 in the ace,
who ever got me into all this chassis business wants a good hiding  i was always more than happy with tikkas standard stocks, for instance, i love my 223's SV stock, now its sat there doing nothing,
me thinks i need to have another good think about things, 👍👍👍

all of which i wanted, plus the fluted bolt, so it was that or the super varmint, stocks are not worth as much as the ace target, were my exapt thoughts👍
swap the trigger spring and they are a decent trigger.
the ace chassis is decent aswell tbh I have the target and it shoots great 👍 great to shoot off quad sticks
