Man charged after deer shot in Dagnam Park

Personally I will have nothing to do with HD and RTAs. Back in the late 1990s I came across an RTA in hampshire where police were on scene and there was a terribly mangled doe still thrashing about. A vet had been called to deal with it but was going to be half an hour.

I got a 6’ digging bar out of the van and was going to finish it off with one quick blow when the wpc stopped me and said I would be arrested for cruelty to the animal so I left them to it, and they stood and watched the doe suffer a slow, painful death, waiting for the vet. But what I was going to do was cruelty........

If I remember the rules correctly, you could also theoretically have been charged with cruelty for not ending the animals's suffering when you had the means to do so. Crazy world, ain't it!?

Ring 101, get an incident number, and wait 5 hours for Plod to turn up?
If you want the quickest response, tell plod you've got a gun with you. Then the ARU will turn up with enough weaponry to do the HD themselves, if they are allowed to.
I've got a number that gets me through to the control room, though!
There is a law that says it is unlawful to 'beat' an animal to death.

its unlawful to kill by blundgening, drowning, burning, impalling or dragging unless its the only means to end suffering, an rta deer banged on the head is done to end sufering the above wpc is/was a idiot and should be charged
shakey

How does the apparently accepted method of dispatching a live caught squirrel/mink into a sack then dispatching with a priest stand against that law?

I appreciate this thread has gone off on a bit of a tangent, but this has pricked my interest.

in the squirrel or rabbit above id say i was dislocating the neck vertibra, in essance with any form of killing you are looking to minimise or remove the chance of suffering, sometimes its not easy

From experience, the Criminal Protection Society will only take a case to court if there is sufficient tangible evidence to give them a 99% chance of winning and in most cases only if there is 100% chance. It keeps their win statistics up.
If a criminal says he didn't do it the CPS will bend over backwards to prove that he didn't do it.
That's why we used to call them the Criminal Protection Service.
Sorry but from personal experience (In Scotland) that is rubbish - when it comes to the wire a prosecution is simply a poker game

we seem to have drifted of topic, does any one know if this chap is going to court?
Alldis, of Epping, Essex, was bailed to appear at a plea trial and preparation hearing at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday March 20 at 9.30am.

It might be rubbish in Scotland but from my thirteen years experience as a Police Officer in England and from my dealings with the CPS it is not rubbish, I do not lie.
