DSC 2 Approved witness list

Does anyone know where I can find a list of approved witnesses for DSC 2?
From my google ing it looks like you now have to register before you get access to a list?

I'm keen to start the process but want to ensure there is a local witness that would be willing to come to me and my land for stalks rather than paying for a stalk and trophy fee or theie land.
I would also like to have a chat with them first before registering and shelling out a few hundred ££ to find no one is local enough.

The AW lists are confidential and I'm not sure it's a bright idea to start a process by trying to subvert it.
Have a read of DSC2 – Deer Management Qualification
then
Assessment Centres – Deer Management Qualification

Thanks for the comments.
Not trying to subvert the process in any way. Just trying to locate an AW to agree to come and witness on the land I have available before starting the 3 year countdown. Plus have a general chat.
If none are available in my area I may try a different tact by doing a DSC2 in a weekend type arrangement. As you know the DSC2 can be costly if paying for stalks, trophy fees etc so trying to do it as economical as possible. I'm sure the list used to be published but possibly it's no longer allowed following the GDPR stuff a few years ago??
There are many websites such as 'County Deer Stalking' that publish a list of people/companies who are AW's so not really sure if the list is confidential..

I should add I'm in the Huntigdon area

Hi All, Andy from St Ives, Cambridgeshire. Part of a few Deer groups and Stalk quite regular. Interested to bounce some ideas off more experianced folk

Silly question probably.
You have land of your own.
Do you need DSC2? :)

Wrong use of the word. I should clarify, I do not own the land but have permisions on it for deer. Some of the land has a restriction that you need minimum DSC1. It may be a requirement in the future to also have DSC2. It used to be a requirement to be at least registered for it but that has been relaxed a little. I think it will come though so just want to be prepared so I don't loose the permision.

Give Jim a ring. He'll sort you out or put you in touch with someone who can.

Hi Carl,
Sort of...i belive you access it through the online portal that the DSC2 is now hosted on.
I now have all my ducks in a row so have registered this morning.
Fabulous. Good luck. The scheme has pros and cons, fans and foes; however, I think any opportunity to get ideas and feedback from fellow hunters is a good opportunity. The piece of paper is secondary to the learning (but is useful in some circumstances).

Kind regards,

Carl

Presumably they give you a list after registration?
Ive recently registered for DSC2. Once you have paid you are given access to a folder on line which contains all the information such as your assessor and a list of approved witnesses is also on there.

On registering for your Level 2 you will be supplied with a list of AW's. Its up to you the candidate to choose which AW to use.

Downside of the online is that's it's a protected file so you are unable to print or filter or do anything with other than read it online. It has multiple pages and columns. But the column headings are only on the first page. Could be made a lot more user friendly in my opinion

Personally, not being very 'techy', (but sometimes very tetchy), I have struggled with the online DSC2 version. I understand the system let's the AWs down sometimes too. Bring back paper!

I am not a techy person, many know that, but to a certain extent I can see why DMQ changed it from paper to on line. One of the main reasons is that the whole portfolio was not delivered to the assessor until completed by the candidate. The Level 2 can be taken over 3 years, and to try and remember who I stalked with and what was achieved after 3 years is not easy, although I used to ask the candidate to send me a copy of the ICR so I had something to refer back to when speaking to the Assessor.

Also it allowed the candidate to see the comments written by the AW, some of which may not have been to their liking. This is all now confidential and each ICR once completed is sent in to DMQ and it is kept on my laptop and I can speak to the Assessor and discuss any issues raised.

Believe me there are some who put in for their Level 2 convinced they have enough experience and knowledge to complete the 3 ICRs without any issue, and then get annoyed when they are questioned about their abilities. The present system seems to work better than the paper one in my opinion, and is a more secure system and takes less time than the paper version. However it does put a slightly larger work load on Assessors.
