Pitlochry Luxury Cottage Holiday Rental discounted rate for Stalking Directory Forum Members

Stunning, I love Pitlochry and visit and stay a couple of times a year. Mainly long weekends, weekends.
You have made a cracking job renovating the cottage and the location is first class. I would rent this and stay for a week but I would have to put my dogs in kennels for a week also, my dogs are kenneled and don't get access to my house.
It is always an extra cost for me when booking anything away to make sure the dogs are looked after, a small kennel that is easy to look after at Dalnavaid cottage would sell it for me.
Regards
Martin.

Appreciate the feedback gents.
Although we have previously advertised no dogs we are currently amending the txt on our website and now allowing dogs in certain areas of the house only. i.e Porch, hallway and kitchen.
Its a truly fantastic area, red,roe & fallow can be spotted from the kitchen window daily amongst an array of other wildlife.
The stalking is magnificent in this area also. (Atholl & Balnakilly Estates).

It does seem a shame when people advertise a fantastic holiday opportunity then state no dogs.
I would think there probably isn't any member of this site without a dog and more than likely a trained well behaved dog as opposed to a 'Pet Dog' that runs wild and chews everything that is new to it.

First this I was going to say was about the no dogs.

Great choice on allowing them.

I don’t know anyone without a dog, and a lot of people that holiday in the UK, often do so because they have a dog and don’t want to leave it. I’ve not be abroad on holiday for that exact reason for many years.

For a small £2k investment you could have a top of the range double kennel built outside.

There are so many Hotels that now allow dogs that my dog has been on holiday with me now for many years.
There are even some that greet you with a 'Doggy Bag' one in particular in Paignton gave me a bag containing a drinking bowl, two towels, a doggy treat and a small blanket. - just in case the dog wanted to swim in the sea !!

Good afternoon all,

I am pleased to announce our website has now been updated and we are now accepting dogs.

The 10% offer will continue for forum members.
Please send a personnel message and I can provide the discount code for the web site.

Best regards

Just to say when we started renting out our converted barn some 9 year ago with the aim of offering very good accommodation aimed at the stalking/shooting/fishing market we installed 2 kennels. They were used about 3 times in the first couple of years and since then anyone bringing dogs has either kept them over night in their cars or used the kitchen or utility with beds and or cages. In the end as they had not been used for the last 3 years for any thing other than firewood storage I have taken them apart and used them to make the walls of a bigger storage shed, so I would think long and hard before spending any money on kennels. A better investment would to install child gates in the doorways between rooms you allows dogs and bedrooms, this is what we do when dogs are coming.

Thanks for your suggestion and well noted.
After speaking to our letting agent normally the higher percentage of damages in other properties are caused by ill trained children as opposed to dogs.
