Has anyone tried one of these? I am after a cheap flight case and wanted to get some advice from SD before trusting amazon!.

Will you be flying with it? If so, cheap probably isn't the way to go. It might also be worth checking airline case requirements with your airline.

Save up and get a second-hand Peli or SKB, in my opinion.

With flight cases you generally get what you pay for providing you understand the concept of fit for purpose. If you are looking for a flight case then there may be someone local to you who makes them for musicians and so you could get something custom built. The other people I would recommend are Swan Flight who do fantastic work and very good prices:

Let me think, spend thousands on a rifle / scope combo....................then stick it in the cheapest case I can find!!!
Be a man, sell your wedding ring and buy a peli case :thumb: :thumb:
 
There was a flight case advertised on here by Dickie the other day and at a good price too. Search Classifieds.
 
Buy a used Peli, or similar, off here, or Ebay, and if it's a one off trip, sell it, and you'll get your money back.

What value would you put on your rifle, scope, and the cosy of the trip ?
 
Just a flight from city to Glasgow - we normally drive up, but flying this time. Trip is gratis other that the flight. I shall spend some time on eBay !
 
Have a look in the classifieds there is an SKB 5014-6 for sale by Dickie at a very good price.

Nuprol Gun cases are no way near the quality of a Peli case. To say they are is complete rubbish. They are a third of the price for half the quality. I bought one for my .22 for car travel to the range. Not a chance i would use it as a flight case. Yes i do have 2 Peli's to compare the Nuprol too

RFD to RFD transfer, might be cheaper than the case, if you have a decent RFD. Saves airport hassle and buy your ammo at the receiving RFD.
