Large rifle case/bag

Looking for a rifle case or bag for my Bergara HMR. I currently have a hard case with foam inside. However, the height of the gun from grip to scope elevation turret is too much for this case and I can't close it properly. The rifle measures 44.5" long with the moderator removed.

I've seen some quite cheap rifle bags on amazon which I like the idea of as the extra pockets will be really useful for equipment that I take to the range etc. Being able to mount it on my back with the shoulder straps is another benefit as it's quite a heavy setup and would make lugging all the equipment around much more comfortable. Does anyone have any experience with these bags or something similar? Not looking to spend much, sub £50 if possible.

Example link on amazon here

Thanks

I use this from amazonk, takes a rifle with a wraith and solaris srx on top so plenty of room.
And well under your budget, so far so good .
Big side pocket and medium padding.

I've had two of these, one arrived with the lining held in place with staples and got sent back, the other I've used for a year but unsurprisingly it hasn't held up well, pretty much ready for the bin.

I have the exact same bag per your link. I bought it to be discreet when I was staying in a hotel as I wanted something that was rectangle and didn't immediately look like a rifle, unlike others.

I would look elsewhere, it's c**p (poorly made, thin) and the extra length comes from a fold out pouch which I cut out as I didn't need it. Wouldn't have wanted to use it either. The draw cord that keeps that part closed had broke anyway, after one use!

I've kept and will use the bag for the same reasons again but I wouldn't have it as my main bag. Mine is one from Decathlon which I got for similar money. They don't seem to sell them anymore though and it would be too short for you in any case.

I would look at Ogdens/Monarch as already said.

Keep your eye out for AIM in the for sale section, you missed out on a few recently, Ridgeline are also a pretty decent bag, Over the years ive wasted good money on cheap bags that ended up scrap after a couple of years or so, ive had Ridgeline and Aim drag bags now for 10 - 15 years plus.

I know that it is well above the budget you stated but I would second the AIM bags. Look for a second hand one, I have had mine years and it is really well made, by the time you have bought one or two cheap ones and been disappointed then the AIM (or similar) don't look so bad.

I'm thinking about one of these. No idea what the quality is like, but they're British made and can be made in custom sizes I believe.

I’ve an Aim bag, is it light - no
is it well made yes
decent zip high degree of padding/protection, about half a dozen clips/straps to hold the rifle in the bag, about the same on the outside of the bag for double security, my folding stock version also has a pocket for the rear end, a slot for a cleaning rod, a couple of large pockets.
I’m happy with it worth the price imho. The Ridgeline are very similar on the outside, not seen inside, there are a few in the club, owners like them a lot as well, a little cheaper I think.

I bought a Vorn after a Scotland trip where my mate took a little trip in a burn - determined to save 3k of rifle and scope being damaged, he did a comedy stumble for about 10 metres before the inevitable happened and he fell over into the water.
Cue much amusement from myself until I realised he was actually hurt. The 4 day stalking trip for him was over - broken bones in his hand meant he had to sit out the rest of the trip.
On my return I bought the Vorn for the simple reason that it left me one hand free to prevent the same happening to me. Sticks can be dropped.

Saw one of these at the range on Saturday and was well impressed.
and it takes up to 51 inch rifles

believe they also do one which is not a range mat as well.

OGDENS all day long expensive hardly when you compare it to all the other expensive items needed, English made customer service at it's best and a warranty if god forbid something failed, Very unlikely.
