A couple of decades ago I was involved in a major oil pollution incident on the SW coastline, my colleagues and I did a couple of 15 hour shifts in all weathers, cleaning up oil and booming an estuary.

Suddenly after two days, a helicopter landed on the foreshore, out jumped 3 or 4 white clad individuals from Greenpeace and set up a PR set. All the press present rushed to them and they did a piece to camera, when that was done, they packed their gear, back in the chopper and off. No offer of assistance, not even a wave or hello, it was purely a PR stunt.

When I saw the piece on the TV later I was appalled, and very angry.

So as far a Greenpeace are concerned, in my opinion, they are a useless bunch of PR seeking f*##**g idiots. I am still waiting, after all those years, for someone to stick a collection tin under my nose, they will get it large!........Not that I hold a grudge.

I did my bit on Saturday: an oriental lady showed me a picture on her phone (deer antlers in velvet), asking if I could supply her with any - I understood, for 'medicinal purposes'; I politely declined, as it is clear to me that the best way to reduce anthropogenic caused climate change could well be to at least not exacerbate the problem and to this effect 'nudge' preferably at source; based on current rates of recruitment, the Swedish population (presently around 10.3 [ten point three] million) anticipated to take around 2000 years to double, while the population of China (currently 1,404 [one thousand four hundred and four] million is expected to double within a much more (re-)productive 19 years.

I won't bore you with the predicted recruitment rates of India and certain African states, but it would appear to me that it may be best (if Greta is hoping to change the world) that she learns a little Mandarin and/or Cantonese, and sets sail in her Kon-tiki for Cathay for a little gunboat diplomacy...

In my years as a teacher I found that 16 years olds were the second most intelligent people on the planet, surpassed only by 15 year olds. There is not a solution that they don't have, and every issue that they consider pressing (like extended hours before curfew, etc...) is surely among the worlds most pressing issues.

Ignore her at your peril, or she will have a fit and yell and scream and slam doors and hate you forever (or until Saturday when she needs some money to go out with friends)!

I notice you haven't answered a single question about the cost of poorly thought out Climate Change plans and who can afford to pay for them. A school strike is hardly that. School is not a place where students are paid, therefore the concept of a strike is meaningless. I've actually been on trade union strikes in my younger days. This is nothing like it.

Anyway in the theme of utter mindless climate change strike - how dare you remix, great at the next rave party.
