So you really want to vote for Boris?

FieldSports Channel has askedcthe question directly of Defra

Defra is looking to ban the import and export of all hunting trophies.

So visiting friends who shoot a woodcock won’t be able to take home the pin feathers as momento.

you go on a driven boar hunt, and you wont be able to bring back the tusks.

lets have a change of government - mind choice of Nicola, Jeremy and Boris. **** it i am just going to get the **** out of the uk.

There isnt a mainstream party today that supports shooting or fieldsports, the only one is the Brexit Party and I fear voting for them will mean we get the lib dems or labour in any case.

Enjoy it while it lasts boys because I suspect we wont be able to enjoy it for much longer in this country...

So, to maximise the value of a sustainable and renewable resource whilst helping protect and conserve the species as a whole is no longer a good idea, according to the lunatics running the asylum eh? Makes perfect sense!

I had a chat with Matt Hancock MP the other day as he was out canvassing locally, had a lengthy discussion about this subject, wasn’t overwhelmed with confidence in his response sadly, thought that maybe being the only person he’d talked to that day not to mention Brexit might have won some affection but I fear not, he was keen to assure me he came from a hunting background..... suspect that was bollox just to placate me, but who knows, still, he let me say my bit, but personally I think we are getting thrown under the bus with them as much as any other party.

I care about fieldsports more than I do about any other issue. Not only because of my love for our rural way of life, but also because the assault on the countryside is a metaphor for the increasingly illiberal society in which we live.

Honestly, right now, fieldsports as a issue are so far down anyone's political radar that it's not worth considering as a criterion for voting.

Which raises the question of why on earth any sensible party is planning to waste time on this, and other silly, or minor issues. They've got plenty of important work to do before they get round to this sort of issue.

Given the accusations of cultural imperialism by the West, keeping the 'natives' down, etc. That would surely follow, along with a sizeable body of considered, expert opinion from scientific and conservation bodies (wtf would Attenborough do?), I think your concerns are a little premature. I say this as someone here making my living in part from trophy deer stalking. Do you think the SGA, and similar bodies potentially impacted are asleep?

MP's only think far enough ahead to saving themselves and accumulating votes. They are not troubled with regard to the economic and social survival of our country, but only in pick up the numpties trophy's votes. Which they firmly believe is a prerequisite to closing all field sports and paving the way for the 'rent-a-kills' to slaughter our deer herds..

I've written to the Conservative Party saying that these ridiculous proposals will prevent me from voting Tory. A meaningless gesture in the great scheme of things but it made me feel better.

...apart from, it would seem, Zac Goldsmith. They seem to be on his political radar.

Oh - and Liverpool Council. Fieldsports seem to be on their political radar.

(I think I'm doing well not to mae any reference to BASC, fieldsports and political radar...... Doh! Me and my big mouth...)

Totally agree with you - they think only about whats popular, however asinine, and can only see as far as the next election.

Facts shmacts. What matters is a good old fashioned banning of something. Because of mUh FeElZ of course...

DEFRA are gathering evidence. Im off to Dallas for the DSC convention. My intention is to get the wildlife ministers from the countries that allow conservation hunting to email in the FACTS and the truth. Oh I forgot its bulljizz and opinion that is used to form policy. We as a group of people are being bullied and victimised. This is pure discrimination against us and if it was any other group of people the media would be on there side.

There is an email address as well as a survey get on there and lets show them a united front.

Sorry for the rant
