Every one of those things can be down to where you live, not how much melanin you have in your skin.
Put the most affluent and privileged person whatever colour he is in a crime-ridden shithole and he'll lose those freedoms without anyone bothering to ask his background, and if he stays there he'll soon be dragged down to everyone else's level if he wants to survive.

Your example is hypothetical and unreal. The reality is the colour of your skin for many in America determines where you, live, what type of education you get and whether you can get a job or not. Once that is decided for you often the outcomes are pretty much pre-determined. There are exceptions of course but that's the reality for many.

That may be true. Well I'm sure it is true, I don't dispute it. But it doesn't follow that the officer who killed Floyd restraining him did so out of racism. Floyd was a violent criminal with a record as long as your arm. The officer pinning him down may have overreacted from fear of would happen if Floyd managed to get to his feet.
Just because racism undoubtedly exists doesn't mean that all black deaths are caused by it. That's like attributing all deaths to covid19 just because the virus is present. It produces false figures, stokes unreasoned rather than informed fear and undermines proper understanding of the virus. If you treat racism as a virus it's clear the same thing is happening which makes stamping this particular "virus" out even more difficult.

Some black people are getting vicitimsed because of their colour. Others are coming into conflict with the law because of their lifestyle and disadvantaged social background. That disadvantage may have an element of racial discrimination - it may be entirely down to racial discrimination - but equally it may not. It's not a given and even where it is the case it doesn't mean that the police officers who deal with the fallout (whatever colour they are) are therefore racists themselves.
Making such assumptions doesn't serve the cause of civil rights or racial equality, it holds it back.
I think that is precisely the point that young black women was making in her video.

Like Clapham Common?

For those that came late to the story this was happening here, in the UK, twenty plus years ago.

My son's mother knew this guy. He wasn't an aggressive man and in fact was actually a bit "wet" she said quite meek and mild. Although most people find they get on best with my son's mother if they also act meek and mild. But despite the verdict of unlawful killing no one was either ever prosecuted or indeed even ever charged.

So he was on remand for being a good boy no doubt ?? I have no empathy at all for prisoners , you don't go to prison for being a respectable citizen . Then he assaulted a prison officer and died whilst being restrained. Why do people always defend prisoners , they are a scourge on society. Commit a crime and suffer the consequences.

Thanks MW.

What an amazing young woman! She should run for President, a very un-blinkered view and says it as it really is.

How refreshing from the continual, brainwashing, garbage we are seeing in the media.

Well done young lady.
No worries, she gets slated by a lot of blacks in the States as she doesn't buy into the left wing narrative and believes that people are accountable for their actions, that goes across all races.

She's also a Trump supporter and has Conservative leanings, and as an educated black person, that doesn't bode well with the Left.

I simply see her as someone that is educated and can see through the BS politics in her country and she certainly doesn't sign up to being a victim.

What I would say is beware of watching videos that my well have been edited to suit an agenda. Also, rumours that people MAY have a history of this or that are only rumours. I also worry that the charges have been increased since the mobs have hit the streets. Is this right?

Cheers mw for that link to Candice Owens on the last page.

Completely changed my view on it, not that I really had a few as had seen so little

Been busy at work so only news I get is on the earphones/ radio 1.
Heard it kicking off for days.
Not once did they mention he was a convicted criminal ( and definaely didnae mention he held a gun to a pregnant woman's womb!!!)
Or ful of drugs, they say that crystal meth is queer stuff and can give u mad tempers, bit like round rage here.
was soundbtes from his memorial service on today 1 speaker/pastor made him out to be like some sort off friendly mother thersa.

Ive still on seen 1 very short clip of an officer kneeing on him and not about to defend or condone it.

But many years ago I used to do a bit on the doors and seen similar, not often but not unusual either by both fellow bouncers or polis.
1 off the lads I worked with was up on attempted murder charges for a wee while for doing something similar.
Quite a wee lad by had as nails and he knew it so never had to prove it, infact a right nice lad but big into ju jitsu.
1 nite somehow chucked a big bloke out night club himself, ended up outside back door everyone he let the guy go he started lashing out by time so he just held on polis took absolute ages to come so he had to nearly choked the boy out.
Eventually the charges were droped

Mind another night chucking 2 wee rages out for fighting, was a new town/pub for me, a local gala night so plenty polis going about.
By time we had draged hem out function room and throu pub they had really calmed down. Kicked them out with a wee joke,
10 mins later when back on front door 4 polis literally siting on top f him and other over him.
If polis caught us doing that to him we'd be lifted too, I managed to drag hiim throu the hotel myself, he wasnae a big lad. Always mind it as it was around the same time the other lad was getting done
To be honest the lad would struggle to fight sleep, just full of drink

Plenty of arsehole bouncers ( and polis) on a power trip but not always that easy dealing with aggressive folk, I really only dealt with drink/drunks and in small towns but nowadays drugs.
Plus throw n how many will carry a chib/knife or pick up a glass now, the old rules of 1 on 1 and never hit a man on the deck died years ago

In America with the ammount of guns and that crystal meth going about bugger that for a game of soldiers
